COUNTY LINE

Lost in a dream north of Abilene
And haunted by a feeling that used to be
Back when our love was like a red red rose in bloom
Baring our souls and with tears in our eyes
We decided it was time to say goodbye
Now I’m alone on this highway talking with the moon

I Don’t know if I’ll be alright
I don’t know what’s ahead in the cold dark night
But I’m hoping this highway’s seen me for the very last time
Separate ways would break our hearts
But staying together would tear us apart
And though it hurts I think that I’ll be fine
If I can make it to the County Line

Feelings so strong to turn this car around
And head it back on into town
We both know that’s a road we’ve traveled before
How can two people love each other
But not be able to live with one another
As long as I live guess I’ll never understand for sure

Searching for a ray of light
And knowing this time
That there’s no turning back
